MISSION
SURGE Theatre is a new Toronto theatre company, pushing the boundaries of storytelling and performance. With a queer and feminist lens, SURGE Theatre aims to be experimental and push standard western theatre practices, as well as tacking uncomfortable truths. We are interested in working with not only theatre practitioners, but all types of artists in different stages of their careers.
Founded by Artistic Director Lisa Alves in 2017, she and Associate Artistic Director Elizabeth Staples are working towards bring artists and audiences together to experience dynamic and engaging performance.
